Viki 32 Flybridge w/Single Yanmar 240HP Diesel - SOLD

I often think that twin engines are over-rated…

Don’t get me wrong, twin engines have their place, particularly in bigger, faster boats; but to my mind the sub-35ft sector simply has too many twin engined models. I mean, think of all the drawbacks:

• They’re more expensive to feed with diesel
• They’re more expensive to maintain
• They’re more expensive to repair or refit if something goes wrong
• They’re take up more room in the boat
• They can be tricky to get to grips with if you’re not used to manoeuvring a twin engined boat

The corollary of this is that single engined boats excel where twin engined boats fall down, and this Viki 32 is no exception.

You may have noticed the launch by Marex of its single engined 32ft coupe model a few years ago, to rave reviews. It’s one of my favourite boats. The boat testers waxed lyrical about its suprising manoeuvrability, easy maintenance and ‘astonishing fuel efficency’. All down to it’s single engine…

If you’re interested in getting your hands on an elegant boat with similar appeal, for a fraction of the cost of the established Scandinavian marque, then this Viki 32 Fly could be the boat for you.

This 2004 model is in lovely condition. It has only 465 hours on the clock and has been well looked after.

The Viki 32 Fly is a boat that has enduring appeal, with its fully teak decks throughout, teak capped coamings all around the deck and rich dark wood finishes in the interior. It’s also a boat that has the practicality and capability to match its looks. From the wide side decks to the high rails all the way around the boat, and the deep swim platform, this is a boat that you will feel secure on both at sea and in the harbour.

The big single Yanmar diesel shaftdrive motor gives the boat a good turn of speed and means that she is sure-footed underway. She is more than capable of some extended coastal cruising… on a shoestring fuel budget I might add! She is fully equipped with all the nav equipment you could need, including Furuno GPS Chartplotter and Radar, Raymarine VHF and Hummingbird Sounder. With the large chart table set to starboard and the fantastic visibility through the one-piece screen, it’s plain to see this boat’s cruising credentials. The central helm position on the flybridge, the planted feel of the shaftdrive hull and the powerful bowthruster make this boat a breeze to berth.

The accommodation on board ‘aint half bad either and is surprisingly roomy for a 10 metre boat. The interior strikes a very nice balance between sturdy practicality and luxury. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is top notch and the facilities are extensive, including a 2-ring gas hob and oven, refrigerator, holding tank, macerator, and Eberspacher heating. With 4 fixed berths in 2 separate cabins (along with another occasional double in the saloon) it would make an ideal cruising boat for a couple or small family, with the option to have more guests overnight if the need arises.
